The commencement of the carbon price will unlock billions of dollars of investment in renewable energy, reducing pollution and delivering new employment opportunities for New South Wales, according to the Nature Conservation Council of NSW.

Two of the State's major conservation groups have expressed support for a Bill to be introduced into the NSW Parliament which would prevent the building of two new coal or gas fired power stations.
The Nature Conservation Council of NSW has a long and proud history of building community support for action on climate change and investment in renewable energy.
“We strongly support a move away from polluting fossil fuels towards a clean economy powered by renewable energy,” Chief Executive Officer Pepe Clarke said.
