Higher-than-permitted levels of mercury vapour escaped into the air from the Orica facility at Port Botany, in Sydney's southeast, on Tuesday, 27 September.

NCC CEO Pepe Clarke says the NSW government must take a long, hard look at our pollution control system and implement strong measures to reduce risks to public safety and the environment.
