Please consider supporting us when you make your will
Help us to keep achieving change
The Nature Conservation Council of NSW (NCC) greatly appreciates the generosity of families and individuals who choose to support our work through charitable bequests.
These lasting legacies help us continue our work to protect Australia's species and landscapes for generations to come. And a bequests gift means we can acknowledge you during your lifetime and keep you informed of our conservation progress.
What types of charitable bequest can I make?
You may choose to leave:
- a specific sum of money
- a percentage of your estate
- a residual bequest (whatever is left after all other gifts and costs have been deducted from your estate)
- a gift of property, shares or insurance policies
Ask your legal adviser about the variety of charitable requests you can make.
How do I make NCC a beneficiary in my will?
We suggest using the following wording in your will, but it is also important to check with your legal adviser:
"I devise and bequeath to the Nature Conservation Council of NSW Inc, free of all taxes and other deductions [amount and/or type of bequest] to be used for the general purposes of the Council, and the receipt of the Secretary or other proper officer of the said Council shall be sufficient discharge to my Trustee."
Are there any other details I need to give my legal adviser?
It is useful to provide NCC's full business details to your legal adviser when arranging a charitable bequest.
