Today (08/11) the Clean Energy Future carbon price legislation has passed into law after a majority 'yes' vote in the Senate. This is a great step forward in tackling climate change.
It's not just the price on pollution that makes this a big win, it’s the $10 billion in funding to get renewable energy projects off the ground, the $1 billion for a biodiversity fund and the commitment to close 2000MW of coal-fired electricity generation, that’s up to 3 of our dirtiest power stations, that makes this legislation something special.
