“Environmental Leaders Fellowship: Taking steps towards a brighter future for communities and their natural environment.”

The Environmental Leaders Fellowship has been reshaped, taking into account the initial feedback received regarding unrealistic commitments for the program.  As a result, the industry placement component will be replaced with a series of full-day workshops on themes including business methodologies and activism/campaign strategies.  Those applicants previously applied will still be considered for the revised program.

The Nature Conservation Council of NSW, the Department of Environment and Climate Change and the Total Environment Centre are offering a unique opportunity for emerging environmental leaders to participate in the Environmental Leaders Fellowship program.

The Environmental Leaders Fellowship program enables seven successful candidates to adapt skills gained through a series of mentoring and industry workshops, and Australia’s foremost sustainability leaders program, Sustainability Leadership Fellowship, to contribute more effectively to their current position within the NGO environmental sphere.

Throughout the program, the participants will be supported through workshops, facilitated by mentors with proven, senior leadership experience within the environmental NGO sector.  In addition, the participants are exposed to fresh ideas and perspectives through a series of industry related workshops and can build on knowledge around sustainability leadership through participation in the Sustainability Leadership Fellowship program.

The revised program will now extend an invitation for an additional number of applicants who are not chosen to undertake the full program to participate in the full-day workshop series.

The Environmental Leaders Fellowship gives you a chance to lead the environment sector and face the challenges head on.

Workshop Series
Future Sustainability Program

Successful candidates and applicants will be invited to attend a maximum of three full-day workshops, exposing participants to fresh ideas and perspectives.  These workshops are intended to build mutual awareness of various stakeholders’ perspectives and the issues that impact on their decision making.

The Future Sustainability Leaders program is a seven month part time course, from 4th May to 16th November, which offers weekly seminar sessions, as well as practical group assignments and one-on-one contact with a mentor with the aim of providing students with a broad range of business
leadership skills
