Climate Action by Mark DiesendorfProtest against proposed coal-fired power stations
4.30pm - 6.00pm. Tuesday 27 July, 2010
Meet at cnr Martin Place and Elizabeth Street, then proceed to prominent intersections and major transport hubs in the CBD.

We need six more volunteers - can you join us?

The NSW Opposition will meet at the beginning of August to discuss policy opportunities. We want to send them a clear message that the community supports an end to polluting coal power and a just transition to a clean energy future.

Our action earlier this month collected more than 690 signatures in an hour! With your help, we can grab the attention of afternoon commuters with our No New Coal signs and get them signing the petition to Parliament in record numbers. Register as a volunteer .

No New Coal ActionIn coming weeks, NSW Cabinet will be asked to consider a proposal for a moratorium on new coal-fired power stations in the state. You can show Cabinet members Premier Kristina Keneally and Ministers Sartor and Lynch that there is strong community support for an end to coal-fired power generation by sending our cyberaction today .

You can also leave a personal message by calling the Premier's Office on (02) 9228 5239.

No New Coal action: Tuesday 6 July, 2010

Thank you to all the passionate volunteers who made our early morning No New Coal action such a great success.

In just over an hour we collected 690 signatures on our petition requesting that the NSW Parliament develop a responsible phase out plan for existing coal-fired power stations, and support job creation in renewable energy industries. Check out some great photos here .

It's not too late. Download the petition today, gather 10 signatures and mail it back to PO Box 137 Newtown NSW 2042 by Thursday 29 July, 2010.
