What we do: The primary aim of BDEG is to promote community and government awareness and care for the environment in the Blacktown area. We are principally concerned with the protection and enhancement of remnant Cumberland Plain woodland vegetation and other natural systems in the area. The main activities of our group are: - lobbying local and state governments;
- raising issues with the local community through press releases,
- writing letters to the editor and public meetings; and
- active bush regeneration in local reserves.
Meetings are held on the 4th Thursday of every month (except December) at Westpoint Community Room, Level 4, Patrick Street, Blacktown, 6-8pm. New members are welcome, and the public are invited to attend meetings to raise local environmental issues of concern to them.

What our members say |
 We really appreciate your ongoing interest and support...
...you are such a key part of the environmental movement, we can’t do without you. |
 Thought you guys were great in Braidwood. So glad there are capable dedicated people out there working for change. |
 Thank you both for this excellent joint letter with Queensland Conservation Council to Environment Ministers.
This is a case of NCC being a huge help to member groups.

 I was moved by the long-term dedication of some of the award winners, and very impressed by the harmony of feeling at the event. (I have served at many, many events over my life, and never felt such quiet unity).
