Coast and Wetlands Society Inc

What we do:

The Coast and Wetlands Society (CAWS) was formed in 1981 from the previous NSW branch of the Australian Littoral Society. CAWS has had a long-term involvement in the management and conservation of wetlands, both at the state and national levels.

CAWS has an active membership including scientists, wetland managers, community groups and natural resource professionals. Through its work, CAWS aims to highlight the important role of wetlands, encourage the application of ecologically sound principles in the utilisation of these important ecosystems, foster wetland research and disseminate the results of this research to ensure that wetlands are better-managed and protected, now and in the future.

We publish a quarterly newsletter as well as the Wetlands (Australia) Journal.
