The Nature Conservation Council of NSW is presenting a wonderful evening of fun for marine conservation hosted by rising culinary star, Jared Ingersoll from Danks Street Depot, on Thursday 15 October.
Guests can enjoy the beautiful ocean views at Wylie’s Baths in Coogee while indulging in a delicious selection of canapés created by Ingersoll to highlight seafood that has been identified as a ‘better choice’ for the environment by the Nice Choice! program.
The seafood selection will be well matched by a range of Little Creatures boutique beers and Crinklewood Biodynamic Vineyard organic wines.
“Jared Ingersoll’s passion for combining fresh, local produce with the best in sustainable seafood will demonstrate how easy it is for people who love their seafood to make better choices about the fish they eat,” Nature Conservation Council of NSW executive director Cate Faehrmann said today.
The silent auction will feature a fantastic range of prizes, including a 2 night weekend getaway package at Byron Bay with accommodation, continental breakfast and four boat dives included. The lucky winner will explore the 125 metre-long Fish Rock Cave which travels through the centre of an island and is home to an array of marine life such as Grey Nurse Sharks.
Other auction items include a luxurious Aveda Spa Experience, sailing lessons on Sydney Harbour, a seafood cookery masterclass and a collection of swimwear from cult label Hotel Bondi Swim.
All proceeds from the auction will go to the Nature Conservation Council’s important marine conservation program.
“From overfishing of sharks and other key commercial species to the urgent need for more marine sanctuaries, the oceans and magnificent marine life off our coast face significant threats to their wellbeing. But, with your help, the Nature Conservation Council can continue its crucial work for a better protected, sustainable marine environment,” Ms Faehrmann said.
